"In a recent podcast..." makes it sound like Mr Dyer is still alive. No biggie...but you know...

True. I guess it was recent to me so I didn’t think about it. Thanks for keeping me honest Ward :)

He passed in 2015. I'm going on 71...so it does seem fairly recent. ^_^

I can remember back when I was your age. 32 and a parent for the first time. And you are so right when you observed that you keep changing. The famous stoic philosopher Epictetus observed that we don’t step into the same river twice. It’s always a different river and we are always a different person. Now, at soon to be 81, what I ache for is to know what comes next. Is there life after death? Will my consciousness of self survive into eternity? Is there a God? I still want to enjoy my life, of course, and hope that there are many years left. But what I ache for is certitude. Not all the questions I’ve had all my life, about religion, the existence of God, the nature of the universe etc.

Thanks for sharing this Gandolfo. Epictetus wisdom is a profound truth and one I try and hold close.

I love your questions too - I imagine they are lifelong inquiries that keep the mystery of life alive. How special that get to ask them and discover what’s there
