A Strong Legacy to Leave Behind
Wishing for a legacy is a weird thing. It’s like wishing for a good life after death. However, it also has a lot of goodness too.
I have gained a lot of inspiration from a lot of different people throughout my life, some of which are still living but most of them have died. This is the legacy they left behind and it now lives on through me. Without them, I wouldn’t be as confident to live the life that I do today.
So this life matters and it’s up to us to inspire others to feel the same.
The legacy I want to leave behind touches upon this. However, it’s less about the things that I’ve done and more about how I’ve done them: I want to be remembered as someone who had the courage to do the things they really wanted to do, even in the face of adversity.
I want to be remembered as the person who went for it with a big open heart - trailblazing with compassion, humility, curiosity, and soul.
Dreams are more fun when they become real.
“Dreams are fun when they are distant. The imagination loves to play with possibilities when there is no risk of failure.
But when you find yourself on the verge of action, you pause. You can feel the uncertainty of what lies ahead. Thoughts swirl. Maybe this isn’t the right time? Failure is possible now.
In that moment – in that short pause that arises when you stand face to face with your dream – is the entirety of life. What you do in that pause is the crucible that forges you. It is the dividing line between being the type of person who thinks about it or the type of person who goes for it.
When I really think about it, I want that moment to be my legacy. Not that I won or lost. Not that I looked good or looked like a fool. But that when I had something I really wanted to do, I went for it.” — James Clear
